The Foundation's mission is to raise awareness of lung cancer and to support promising clinical trials. The dollars raised will allow the Foundation to partner with various research teams, doctors, and hospitals to support their efforts to achieve success with their patients.

LUNG CANCER ACCOUNTS FOR 1.6 MILLION DEATHS ANNUALLY WORLDWIDE

The Joan DeCotis Foundation is named in honor of Joan DeCotis, a teacher, wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, who bravely fought lung cancer for 15 years before succumbing in 2011.

Joan's dream of finding a drug which would keep lung cancer at bay permanently did not end when she died; it continues through the efforts of this Foundation. Those who were fortunate to know Joan recognize her kindness, charity, and optimism.

JOAN WAS ABLE TO BATTLE LUNG CANCER FOR AN UNPRECEDENTED NUMBER OF YEARS DUE TO HER PARTICIPATION IN EXPERIMENTAL DRUG TRIALS FUNDED BY RESEARCH DOLLARS.
